Please remember that you’re staying in a house, not a hotel. We ask guests to please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site 24/7.
Please note that we use a noise monitoring device in the home. It does NOT record actual sounds or conversations, it simply monitors the noise level (measured in decibels) in order to prevent parties.
TERMS OF SERVICE
To abide by all legal requirements and building security rules, you may be asked to provide a copy of your official government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact information, provide a valid credit card with a name that matches your ID, pass through our verification portal and, in some instances, complete a criminal background check.

It's about 20 minutes south of Harpers Ferry, 30 minutes west of Leesburg and 15 minutes east of Charles Town. The roads are windy but well-maintained and the short road to the house is gravel.

The driveway is large enough for 6 standard vehicles

The area is in a remote, sparsely populated mountain lake community. There are other homes in the area but it is very quiet.
HEATING & COOLING
The central air and heating is on the upper floor only and controlled by a Nest Thermostat. We have provided a space heater & portable AC in the lower bedroom (bedroom #2).
INTERNET
High-speed! 300Mbps+ that is suitable for multiple people streaming videos, remote work, surfing the web, and answering emails.
OUTDOOR SPACE
Firepit, grill, patio furniture, and string lights are for your enjoyment! To ensure cleanliness and a positive experience for all guests, we do charge a $40 grill use and cleaning fee. We appreciate your understanding. Additionally, while we provide a citronella candle and bug zapper to mitigate mosquitoes and insects, this is an outdoor area and we highly recommend bug spray!
THINGS TO DO
Lake Shannondale is the primary attraction in the area. However, we are also centrally located to the Shenandoah River, Appalachian trail access, historic Harpers Ferry, and many breweries and wineries!
SECURITY
In an effort to keep the entire property more secure, we have installed a security cameras on the front door of the cottage.
GATHERINGS:
We know you are coming to have a good time, but out of respect to our neighbors, this property has a strict No Party policy.
QUIET HOURS:
Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am. Guests are responsible for the conduct of all persons in their unit.
SMOKING:
Smoking of any kind including vaping is not allowed in the home. There will be a penalty fee if it is determined that there was smoking in the home during your reservation period.
MINIMUM AGE:
Guests named on the reservation must be 18 years or older. By booking a reservation, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity and authority to enter into a contract. The name on the reservation must be present at check-in and throughout the duration of the stay.
