The largest ski area in Idaho, on a road that climbs the whole way up. It runs a summer season for mountain biking and hiking as well as the winter one.

US-95 runs north to Sandpoint, crossing the Long Bridge over the southern end of Lake Pend Oreille on the way in. That crossing is the point where the scale of the lake becomes obvious.
